Our Story
Our Story
Payless Smog Center opened its doors in Westlake Village in 1981 — when smog testing was still a new concept in California. Since then, we have tested tens of thousands of vehicles and built a reputation as the most trusted smog check station in the Conejo Valley.
Our lead technician holds an advanced emission testing degree, a credential that goes well beyond the standard smog license. This means deeper diagnostic capability, more accurate results, and the ability to handle complex cases that other stations turn away.
We are a licensed STAR smog station, authorized by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair to test vehicles directed by the DMV — including high-emitters and gross polluters. When the DMV sends a driver to a STAR station, they can come to us with confidence.
